Toolkit 2 - Clay Modelling: Lesson 2

In today's lesson I started on the rough forms of my head. I stuffed some more tin foil around the loop to create a solid base, and then with clay I started to put on some rough shapes. At first it looked like just a sphere, but then I started to shape things out and create the start of some eye-sockets, a nose the jaw and shoulders. Its still very rough at this stage but I think it's coming along well.

Toolkit 2 - Clay Modelling: Lesson 1

In today's lesson we built the structure our model will be sat on. We used wire, kitchen foil and milliput. I had trouble cutting and forming the wire because of my hands, so I had to ask for a lot of help, but by the time i got to the kitchen foil I got the hang of things. I used milliput to to hold everything together but I'm pretty sure I used a little too much so i had to push it all back down the pipe so it wasn't so bulky (not shown). I also made two balls of milliput that will be used for the eyes of my model.
