Major - Reflective Statement
I'm here. At the end. It's been a wild ride. Ups and downs. But now it's all done I'm just so proud of myself for sticking with it. The last week was the hardest. Mental health hit me, and some other problems with my neck, it's been an incredible rollercoaster ride that despite everything I wouldn't take back for the world.
There's a lot I could improve, but for something I'm going to use as a jumping-off point for future projects I'm very happy with how it turned out. It's been a huge grind. I've definitely learnt a lot from this project, and from the last 3 years at this university. I think the most important thing I learnt is to just keep sticking with it, no matter how you think it looks now it's not how it will look later. There were so many points I wanted to give up. And I'm so proud of myself that I didn't.
Of course, A few things in my final teaser trailer went under the radar. The music is a royalty-free piece I found, and I do wish I would have got something commissioned for it, the sound design is also minimal, It's never been my strong suit, and it's something I aim to improve upon.
There were many technical errors in this project, facial rigging never wanted to work at first, blendshapes input incorrectly, ncloth being an all-around pain (Didn't quite learn my lesson from first year there). If I were to improve this project I would make a new rig for Elisadoras skirt. The ncloth seemed like a good idea at first, however, the clipping is still extremely apparent, and it was the best I could get it to look.
Moving forward I would love to get into character design as a career path, I'm aiming to update my portfolio and online business presence to get the ball rolling, and take commissions and freelance work while I go job hunting. I'll also work on personal projects too, I've already started to take a fancy to our old tutor Phil Gomms Kick About each week, perhaps I'll start to join in.
For now, though, I'm going to work on moving forward with my final renders with conductor and compositing the final final version of my film. I wanted to very quickly thank everyone who helped me make it through this project. I wouldn't have made it through without you all! It's been very hard on me mental health-wise, but I'm determined to use this experience and improve my work ethic for the better.

Title of Project: Solumna
This project is a character design/worldbuilding project. I've designed 3 characters to fit in the world I created. The aim is to have them elude to a bigger world and plot, without giving away too much straight away, wanting viewers to believe there's a bigger world waiting to be explored.
My personal goals for this project was to finish modelling all 3 of my characters and animate individual short vignettes that would fit into a larger "teaser trailer". I wanted to have 3 diverse characters that would demonstrate my skills and that I could use as an all-rounder portfolio for graduation. I also wanted to make sure that (if I wanted to) I would be able to pitch the project to studios if an opportunity came about.
The agreed outcomes were all three characters modelled, rigged, textured, skinned etc. All their environments modelled and textures, and all 3 vignettes animated, as well as a character design making of which I have titled "The World of Solumna"

Major - Environment Modelling #6 - Lighting Katherine's Scene
There are 3 lights in the final scene. A Skydome with Physical Sky attached to create the silhouette of the window panes on the table. An Area Light behind the windows to give some added illumination, and a spotlight pointed down at the map to replicate an overhead light.
Major - Elisadora Finished Rig
Ncloth works from her waist down and I added an on/off switch to the breeze CTRL so I can turn it off while animating and just use the normal dress.
Major - Environment Modelling #5 - Starting the Ruins
So far for Alekos' scene i've modelled most of the main assets. The stairs are in progress and then i'll be working on making the entry way assets.

Major - The World of Solumna - Progress #3
After getting feedback from Alan on my making of, I decided to completely re-do all the layouts for the document. I'm aware some parts look empty, and any feedback on this is extremely appreciated.

Major - Environment Modelling #4 - Finished Models, Texture and Lighting test renders
I still need to texture the chair cushions properly, but I wanted to do lighting and toons tests with the environment as soon as I could. Most Textures are outsourced and edited from websites that offer free texture packs. I plan to edit them more (mostly the wall) to match the scene better.

Major - Environment Modelling #3 - Chair Progress
I've mixed elements of the table legs and this image to model the chair. The rest of the chair should be simple since its just reusing elements from the existing mesh.

Major - Katherine - Animation Rough Blocking Pass 1
I've been blocking out some of the key poses. It's not much progress yet, but I wanted to upload this to show that I've started animating Katherine's scene and am making progress.
