I'm finding it difficult to make more androgynous flower characters, especially since flowers have extremely feminine shapes already. However I tried my best with these designs. I personally like 2, 6 and 8, and I like the shorts on 9.
I like 6 - shorts will be harder to animate. I don't think you need to tie yourself up in knots re the androgyny - but I think making them looking like female ballet dancers/ball room dancers was the trope to work against - which you're doing here.
