Toolkit 2 - Cleaned up Animation

Today Alan helped me refine and clean up my animation since I had missed the previous weeks lessons due to illness. I do still have a little catching up to do since he couldn't cover everything.

Toolkit 1 - Animation Showreel + Reflective Statement 2017/2018

Reflective Statement

Since I started late because of transferring I didn't get to learn the basics of Adobe Animate as well as I'd have liked. Which meant my work attitude suffered as I fell behind as well. As a result, I don't have as much work as I'd have liked to have for this submission. Next year I plan to fix my work ethic toward animation, and the toolkit in general, so I don't have so many gaps in my work. The work I have done I am proud of, I especially like how my flour sack animation turned out. I hope to improve at this kind of animation, and animation in general throughout the coming years.

Toolkit 1 - Lip Sync Continued

Today I started on the character animation for my Lip Sync. It's very bare bones and I need to animate the eyes still, but for now, I thought I'd upload what I have.

Toolkit 1 - X-sheets & Lip syncing

Last week, we learnt about how to make and read an x sheet and how to use it to plan out animations, including lip syncing.

At first, I was going to use audio from the musical "Hamilton", but the dialogue was far too frequent for my first time, so I chose a different audio.

Now I just have to sync the mouth shapes to the audio with character movement.

Toolkit 1 - Walking Animation

Today we made a walking animation in Adobe Animate. Here is my kind of bad one? The strides are too short and its way too janky. But its good for my first attempt at making a walk cycle in Animate.

A few months ago, I did make another one in adobe after effects, however its not a gif, and i'm not sure if the video will work on blogger or not. Nonetheless, I've included it on this post for comparison.

Toolkit 1 - Follow Through

Today in class we added to last weeks bouncing balls animations and worked on follow through actions. Things like a tail, ears, hair are all follow through actions and should be animated after the majority of your base animations are done.
This one I did a simple "tadpole". I think its pretty okay, except the end with the stop. I couldn't get it the way I liked.
This one I decided to do a simple bouncing one eyed Owl with its ears moving. I gave it a sudden stop where the ears move forward and backward quickly.

The last one I did an eye with the pupil "dragging" where its been. I think the roll at the end is a little better this time, but i'll have to practice with objects like the tail again.
