@Phil - Fantastic Voyage - Butterfly Design Changes

After the pitch feedback i decided to first work on getting the butterfly design tweaked. The changes I made were all in the side view. I tapered the back to make it look like a tailcoat jacket, and thinned the legs to add elegance.

  1. Hi Annie! I'm just jumping in before Phil here... I'm sure he'll have his own ideas ;)
I'm just wondering if your butterfly needs the front part of his 'wings' - ie the left hand part in the side view? At the moment it looks more like a cape to me than wings... it would also give more of a 'coat-tails' look if the front was gone. I appreciate that this would then expose your butterfly body, which is maybe why it is like it is at the moment :)

  2. I agree, I think if your wings were just on the 'back' of his outfit (i.e. as wings would be) then it will expose the front of his body, giving you more obvious tailoring and shaping for the bottom of the body - see the image below - okay, so it's for a girl, but it makes the point:

    1. This might make it more difficult to model and rig though, I was doing this kind of cape and dress design for the simplicity of the style and to make work in maya a little easier.
