I wasn't connecting with my artist too much so i decided to do a few studies to help me understand how he thinks and works. So far its not really working and i'm getting a little confused by his concept of implying mass without mass.
Maybe just try describing what you see - you could say that Gabo creates 'structures', frameworks, webs, membranes - sometimes architecture might be massive, without being weighty - it might be big, without being dense - you can imply mass without manifesting the full weight and physical materiality of it - take a look at 'membrane architecture' and 'tensile architecture' and related ideas. Ask yourself some simpler questions - what does Gabo's stuff resemble, remind you of, look like? Let's see some word stacks and some free association to limber you up!
